In House Diagnostic Testing
We are proud to offer a full range of in house laboratory testing. We offer fecal analysis, urine analysis, full blood chemistry panels, electrolytes, complete blood counts, and much more. There are many tests that we can run in clinic using state of the art diagnostic technology that can provide results quickly and accurately. These tests and equipment help give us an accurate picture of your pet's health, allowing us in many cases, to begin treatment for many conditions and diseases immediately. Any diagnostics that can not be performed in clinic can be sent away to an outside lab.
Digital Radiography
Radiography is an important tool we use to help examine the body for injury or disease. X-rays are not only used for examining bones, but can be used to look at a patients heart, lungs, and abdominal organs. X-rays are quick and painless for pets and can help the veterinarian to make a diagnosis or to direct them to order more tests based on the x-ray findings. At Claresholm Veterinary Services, we offer digital x-ray for small and large animals as well as digital dental x-rays.
Animal Identification
It’s a terrible feeling to know that your pet is lost and on their own, but it’s an avoidable one. Microchipping pets is the best way to ensure their safe return in the unfortunate event that they become lost. We know your pets are members of your family, and we want to make sure you stay together. We highly advise all pet owners to microchip their pets. In addition, we also offer complimentary ear tattoos when you spay or neuter your pet. These are another method that can be used to ensure your pet is returned to you if they are ever lost.
Nutritional Counselling
If you have any questions about your pet’s diet or would like more information about your pet’s nutritional needs please contact us today. We can set up a nutrition plan for your pet depending on their life stage, body conditon, health, etc. Obesity is a common problem among pets, as it can be easy to over-feed a pet that knows how to beg. Being overweight is a serious problem for animals and can cause real health problems as they get older. With proper diet and exercise, all pets should be able to meet their dietary needs and be within a healthy weight range.
A pet’s nutritional needs change as they enter different stages of their lives. The best way to make sure your pet’s needs are being met is to consult with us about a diet made specifically for them and their lifestyle. Please contact us if you have any questions; we would love to speak with you!

Therapeutic Laser
Laser therapy accelerates the body’s natural healing process through photo-bio-modulation. This means that the laser acts at a cellular level promoting biological and photo stimulation of cells, decreasing pain and inflammation while promoting healing. Our Therapy Laser is effective in treating both chronic and acute conditions such as strains, sprains and osteoarthritis, and reducing post-surgical pain and inflammation.Therapy laser has been shown to be beneficial in small and large animals. Dentistry
The most common disease we see in pets is periodontal or gum disease. Periodontal disease attacks the gums and surrounding tissues of the teeth and can lead to serious health problems including heart, liver, and kidney disease. Regular dental exams and cleanings help prevent periodontal disease and in many cases, actually extend the life of your pet. We offer dentistry services for small animals including digital dental radiographs, oral surgery (teeth extractions) and cleanings.
Vaccinations
Vaccines protect against contagious and potentially life threatening diseases such as Rabies, Distemper and Parvovirus. Vaccines are a cost effective way to help prevent disease. Not only do some vaccines, such as the Rabies vaccine, protect your pet but they also protect you and your loved ones. Rabies is a disease that can be transmitted to humans and is untreatable.
Vaccines do not guarantee that an animal is fully protected against a given disease however, vaccinations have proven to be the simplest, safest and most effective means of preventing a number of diseases in pets. Our vaccination protocols are in line with the AVMA guidelines, giving your pet the best possible protection based on its lifestyle. Call us today to discuss what vaccines are recommended for your dog or cat.

House Calls
We understand that it is not always possible to bring your pet to our clinic. That is why we offer house calls and see animals in your own home. This can eliminate a lot of the stress that you and your pet associate with coming to the vet clinic, and allow less mobile pets and people access to our services. Please let us know of any specific requests or conditions that will require special attention. We promise to communicate with you throughout the process to make sure it goes smoothly for you and your animal.
Emergency Services
We know that emergencies can be a stressful time for you, so we will do our best to help make the process easier for you and your pet. We offer 24 hour emergency services for all our clients. To contact a veterinarian outside of regular business hours call (403) 625-3608.
